As rappers come and go like a hurricane off the Florida coast, Lee Bone's refreshing flare for original tracks laced with captivating rhyme schemes just may make him the calm in the eye of the storm. Though he hails from Memphis, TN, Lee Bone (aka Marietta, aka Southern Accent) also has roots in New Orleans and Atlanta, the latter of which being where he has spent most of his time the last few years producing, mastering, and engineering his upcoming album. Lee earned his nickname "Bone" for the way he would "bone", or totally embarrass, other rappers during a battle. "It all started at the age of twelve, when I began writing poems, songs, jingles, and raps covering several genres, all while teaching myself to play the keyboard," says Bone. Even though he possesses freestyle skills that could rival even the hardest MC's, Bone's ability to reach the common man is what sets him apart. "Well, I think the following line pretty much sums up my style: I make lyrics for your mind/ I make music for the riders Not a Thug, not a "G"- I'm an "S"--- a survivor! "See, a lot of cats think players hustle because they love the "thug life", but on the real, it's people hustlin' that work everyday, 9-5, hold down two jobs, have college degrees, and STILL can't seem to make ends meet, so they do whatever it takes to survive, and that's me. Hell, I've seen guys in suits sell more illegal drugs than any one of my boyz on the track, and I think that type of realism along with my rebellious attitude make it easy for the "common" man or woman to feel me." As he began to build a fan base through local nightspots, Bone began polishing his production skills. He also enrolled in the University of Memphis, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business and Paralegal Studies. As a result of his efforts, Bone has had one of his works published in a national anthology (1992), recorded a political advertisement for City Court Judge Jane Chandler in 1994, had a single, "Bend your Knees a little Lower", played in Germany, and started future music publishing powerhouse Harden-Shotwell Publishing, named after his late music partner Marvin Shotwell. Most recently, Bone has performed shows in the Carolinas, engineered a demo for Voice over artist Dante Savannah, reined as freestyle champion for over three weeks on Atlanta's Hot 107.9, and produced/performed a radio promo spot for that station. Check out the heat for yourself as cuts like "Let's Get F#@k Up" and "Table Dance" set a whole new trend fro down south hip hop. Track List: 1. Call Intro 2. 2:30 Pm 3. G.r.i.t.s Intro 4.
