WHY Honky mofo is the story of my life. It's an homage to growing up in a trailer park in the small town of Erwin, north Carolina, looking in the mirror, appreciating the lessons, and being able to laugh about it. My dad was in the army all of my teen years causing me to Be the polar opposite of a fly in the buttermilk most everywhere I lived after Carolina (Japan, DC, Hawaii). Sometimes my best friend was ning nong klepthong, sometimes he was jay white, sometimes he was james Jackson... The influence of the the different cultures and redneck background brings a unique twist to a music that has been touted as "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW ON STEROIDS" WHO You might have heard my playing (bass) with "the Nixons" (MCA alt/rock recording artist), Gary Hoey, Tony macalpine, Jennifer Batten, Darren housholder (guitar shredders). Shockhead (indivision funk rock recording artist), "The Boogie Knights Presents" disco show band... etc. I love music that keeps reinventing itself. All of the different styles that I am and all that I like have somehow affected the sound that is Honky Mofo. It's kinda like a musical Wal-Mart, one stop shopping. Honky mofo has been compared to g love, beck, citizen king, weezer, mr bungle, the beastie boys, self, bubba sparxxx and though I think they are all wrong, they are all probably right. The songs "Redneck 2002" is a beat box infested testosterone rap about "the Man". "Sandra" is a buddy holly-esque gut wrenching doo-wop to all the girls I've loved before... at once. "Chocolate" is a crowd favorite that pokes fun at the hip-hop community (music that I love) by jamming "I put my chocolate in your peanut butter (what what)". "Sexymamasuperflywhitegirl" is a sugar ray vibe with samples of princes "sexy mofo". "Planet of sound" is a hard-edged version of the "pixies" classic "Zac Crain" is a weezerish toon that is about a music critic here in Dallas that would not leave me & the nixons boys alone. He would trash us every minute he could... revenge is sweet. There is 12 songs plus 3 skits all produced with a belly full of smiles.
