The hard penetrating, self-reflective vocals of this MC poignantly illustrate that there is more to life than "bling bling." Born in the Midwest, raised in Maryland, and schooled in the business in NYC, E Reece is unlike and artist you have ever heard or seen. This talented and hard-working lyricist, songwriter, poet, and musician keeps your attention at every turn and will make you challenge yourself. His music speaks of love, life, and staying true to yourself. His love of music began when he began to study the jazz saxophone at age 12. His early influences include Michael Jackson, Prince, Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan, and later A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-1, Busta Rhymes and other east coast artists. He began to develop his own style in high school, when he started freestyling with his boys. Later he would hone his skills at open mic nights and any cipher he could get in, most notably with the legendary KRS-1 and BET's Rap City host Tigger at the 930 Club in DC in 1999. A love for hip hop has developed into a promising career, with growing success on the underground level from MD to NYC to LA, his home for the past four years. He's blazed the stage several times at The Temple Bar in Santa Monica, CA and performed in London on Nicci Cheeks 97.9FM and on GaiaLive.com. He's featured on Lyricist Lounge's latest mixtape entitled The Legendary Lyricist Lounge International Mixtape Series Vol. 1. You can check out some of the music from his newest release, FarEye Vision, [EP, 2004, E Reece Music (ASCAP)] online at Sonicbids.com/EReece and on TV on the PAX Network, a cable joint, beginning June 26, 2004. E Reece and director friend Chidi Nobi also filmed a music video for his song entitled "Get Live," guerilla style in the streets of Los Angeles in early 2004. In between music gigs, E Reece pursues modeling and acting. He was the first runner-up in DC's "Mr. Metropolitan" contest in '98. He's strutted the runway for Alvin King in DC and NYC, Travis Winkey in B'more, and many others in DC, Philly, and LA. His image has graced book covers, posters, and print ads. He's the good looking brother featured in the May and June '04 issues of the Japanese hip hop mag, Woffin. You'll see him in videos too. Check him out in Floetry's "Say Yes" video - he's the handsome puppeteer mesmerizing the ladies in the subway scene. E Reece has also made his move to the small and large screens. Look out for his new Chevy commercial, featuring the new '05 Trailblazer. He had his first principle role in the indie film "Claims" in 2003 (Mene Productions). And he's perfecting his craft at The Working Stage in LA with Deke Anderson. So check out this multi-talented brother and his live band "Core Elements," who mix old school hip hop, east coast wisdom, and west coast love of life. His music transcends all cultures, and with a love for rhyming that's deep rooted in the essence of the hip hop culture, it's going to be hard to stop his star from rising. " Once they've heard my music or seen my live show, I want people to believe in the power of positive music and to know that real hip hop isn't dead." He's E Reece and he's not for the fake.
