Phenomenon is the proper description of a mastermind and TRU-G is better known as the Southern Phenomenon. This mastermind is a ripe 19 years young with a musical journey in sight that promises thriving significant words delivered with a whirlwind of club thumpin' self-produced tracks, and he'd like to take you on his journey.

TRU-G's "sandpaper and gravel" vocal cords are coupled with an unashamedly Louisiana accent. He's been tagged as the new Mystikal. Consequently, TRU-G wrote a song about the unfortunate tag titled, "I'm Sick of this Sh*t". TRU-G has established himself as an exceedingly popular performer throughout the southern region of the states and is progressively taking the necessary steps forward to take the nation swiftly.

His album, "And Then There Was One" is scheduled for release January 2006. The title of the album derived from his situation of him being in two groups of 12 members total at one time. Whatever the circumstances, they were unable to stay together as a group. TRU-G says that after all the years of back-biting, back-stabbing, people burning him and holding him down he felt the title of his album was appropriate; "And Then There Was One"!

Born as Tierriri J. Franklin, II in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; TRU-G was destined to make his mark in the music industry. The handsome young 6ft gent began producing tracks at the age of 13, not only for himself but for other artists in his area. In 2001, TRU-G and his mother formed a production company called T.A.L.I. Entertainment. T.A.L.I. stands for "Thuggin' and Lovin' It".

TRU-G has opened shows for: Master P, The Big Tymers, Lil Wayne, T-Bo, Krazy, Juvenile, B.G., Soulja Slim, C-Loc, Mystikal and many more... When asked what are his most favorable characteristics he emphatically states, "My one of a kind personality, you gotta love some TRU-G". While he's not in the studio laying down his tracks, TRU-G enjoys video production, designing clothes and watching a good game of football.

TRU-G surveys that some of today's music listeners are looking for situations in the artists life; placed over a nice track which allows the listeners to identify with and possibly bring them closer to the artist, whether it's a storyline song or a club hopping track. He has the ingredients to do just that. It's good gumbo!

In the later parts of the summer of 2004, TRU-G signed with an independent label; Black Grove 401 Records, LLC located in Houston, Texas. TRU-G's talent, business oriented mind, creativity among other things, placed him as the labels marquee artist.

Songs from the album that are getting spins and recognition from the album are: "I Need A Throw Back", In the month of July, 2005 he charted #17 out of 358,828 songs currently listed in the Hip-Hop category at www.soundclick.com, and "U Got Me Messed Up! " charted #1 out of 80,241 songs listed in the Hardcore Hip-Hop category at the same site. The entire album minus one track was produced, performed, recorded, and mixed by TRU-G. No features necessary. And Then There Was One!
