Steve Pompili aka S-Pomp, was born on February 4th 1983 in Youngstown, Ohio. His older brother Eddie introduced him to Hip-Hop at a very early age. By 7th grade Steve had decided to become a rapper and began writing rhymes, but kept his ambitions a secret. After graduating from Hubbard High School in 2001, a period of soul searching and maturity began. Various personal tragedies occurred that forever changed him, essentially giving birth to S-Pomp. From that point forward everything was sacraficed in persuit of this dream. By late 2002, S-Pomp began performing at parties, talent shows, and battles all around the 330. By the summer of 2003 the demand for an album was present. After a failed attempt at an underground record label, Pomp worked, saved money and purchased his own studio equipment and learned how to record and mix music. The studio was given the name “The Kennel†a fitting name for a group called “UnderDawgs.†Many songs were recorded and live performances were held, but soon after conflict occurred and Steve went solo. On New Year’s Eve 2004, S-Pomp decided that he needed to completely start from scratch. 2005 would be spent perfecting an album and putting him into a position to be heard by a much larger audience. With the help of Erik Frankford aka E, Pomp went to work creating an album with an appropriate title: Product of my Environment. Re-recording some older material and adding a variety of new songs. “I really improved a lot, my flow and deliever as well as my lyrics. I worked extremely hard…I spent everynight of my life in the studio for about 2 years straight, I’m talking Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, you name it.†“I became like a hermit, disconnected from everything and totally focused on music.†“The struggle of it all, both music and personal, really made me stronger and brought out the best in me.†“So many times I wanted to just say fuck it I’m done, but I couldn’t, I love it so much.†“There comes a point that every artist hits where they just say that’s it, I quit.†“I told myself that if I could get passed that and continue making progress, I would be right where I wanna be.†"You gotta set yourself alot of small goals that work towards an ultimate goal." "I don't feel that I have reached my full potiential as an artist or as a person yet, but I believe that I've come a long way. I'm always looking for ways to better myself. When you're through improving, you're through." “It seems like every since I started rapping everything around me changed…people treated me different, some hated on me, some showed love.†“But I knew I was doing something right because everyone had an opinion, so that means they heard me and I triggered some form of emotion, which is what I aim to do musically.†“I feel that Product of my Environment gives the listener not only a picture of me, but it also allows people to know who I truly am and relate with me.†“I poured my soul into it, every word of every song, I completely let myself go.†“When I write I am free to speak my mind and tell my story, I put it all out there for everyone to hear, both the good and the bad.†"I do and always will keep it real, you'll never hear me talk about shit that I never did, don't do, or have no idea about, that aint me." "I used to wish that I grew up on the streets and was a gangsta, but God placed me in my environment for a reason so I tell my real story instead of some made up bullshit." "Honestly I think it is more challenging but at the same time it gives me a different perspective." “The album really has something for every type of hip-hop fan…You got club bangers and party tracks, aggressive songs, reflective ones, personal cuts, as well as underground raw raps. †Check out the artist's website: http://www.s-pomp.com Track List: 1.
