With his gritty voice, smooth flow and witty lyrics, RUKUS re-emerged in the summer of 2004 as a major player on the hip-hop scene. Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, but raised in a Nigerian household, the 22 year old MC reps Nigeria and the "2-1-0" to the fullest as evidenced by the well received release of his first mixtape titled "The Big Bang Theory" and the highly anticipated release of his first album entitled "HOMEGROWN".
With the singles from his first mixtape,"Come On" and "Drop", already receiving spins in the Houston area and airplay on KVJM 103.1 in 2004, RUKUS' buzz sky-rocketed in 2005 as he wowed DJ's and fans alike with his catchy remix to the already popular Amerie hit "One Thing" which outshined remixes by well-known rappers such as Fabolous and Eve. With remixes to Mariah Carey's "Its Like That" and Usher's "Bad Girl" in club and radio rotation RUKUS has begun to receive a flood of calls and emails from record label representatives eager to add the talented young star to their roster. Having finished recording his 1st album, RUKUS is more focused than ever and expects to make an even bigger splash in the clubs and on the radio with the hit singles "Your Love", "Here I Come" and "Talk, Chill, Relax". In addition, he's wowed African crowds everywhere with his rendition of "African Queen". Look for this popular young MC to continue making waves in 2005 as his exposure ventures outside Texas and to a radio near you.
