I'm originallly from, "The home of the blues", Memphis, Tennessee. I've always been glad about that. My early influences were and still are Memphis artist like, Rufus and Carla Thomas, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Al Green . . . . Later, I discovered and developed a love for Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha, Sarah, Billie Holiday, Gladys Knight, Roberta Flack, Smokey Robinson . . . I could go on and on. I enjoy writing many types of music and this cd reflexs it with original cuts of soul and gospel and jazz and hip hop /R&B. Because theatre is in my background, I added some show-tune qualities on one song. I wrote the lyrics or co-wrote to nine cuts and covered five of the songs I love to use in my show and seem to be very much loved by the listeners.
