Manifest Destiny - a phrase in the 1840's used by US leaders and politicians to justify continental and ideological expansion by way of slaughtering Native Americans, and condemning any people not of European origin

That is what Manifest Destiny meant!

Nowadays Manifest Destiny represents powerful and educated minorities (E-Mid & Intellect), who will take this once degrading and derogatory motive and make it an inspiration to the overlooked and underprivileged of today through music.

So you may be wondering who is Manifest Destiny. They are the best of both worlds, but not in the sense that you may think. There's no R&B in their blood!

Manifest Destiny is a Hip Hop duo made up of two Latin American first cousins, E-Mid and Intellect. Both grew up in Newark, NJ but were educated in the suburban towns bordering Newark. This is part of the dynamic that separates this group from many other Hip Hop artists in that they understand how to survive in the streets, but understand the politics of aristocratic and corporate society. There aren't many people who can hold their own and receive respect in these two very different subcultures of society. The acquisition of knowledge that is normally out of reach of their people is reflected in Manifest Destiny's music.

Manifest Destiny doesn't just provide hard bass heavy beats, ear catching choruses, and ill lyrics; they provide education to the ones who weren't as lucky as them. Manifest Destiny is here to break the revolving door that has aided in the hindering of generations.

Manifest Destiny represents the unheard and underprivileged, and have an army behind them waiting to take the industry by storm. Manifest Destiny's lyrics and metaphors are hard and explicit because that is the life they experienced; however, their lyrics are also inspirational and educating.

They truly are the best of both worlds.
