Composed of two Newark, NJ natives, E-MID and INTELLECT, MANIFEST DESTINY (MD) brings zeal, passion, and originality that is often unmatched by others in the Hip Hop game. This Latino duo, which represents the 222 family, has been emceeing together since the age of 14. Now in their early 20s, MD is seeking to take their career to an even higher level. Over the past few years MD has started to do just that. They have performed in countless shows in the Newark, NJ area. A serious following for the groups has begun to emerge in the Bricks, evidenced by the increasing number of people spotted wearing "Manifest Destiny 222" apparel, and repeating the group's hooks at shows. In the summer of 2000, the group independently released its first project, the "A LOT LIKE NO ONE" EP. With the pressing, fund raising, and promotion being entirely the work of a three man army (MD & Abuse) theses young entrepreneurs managed impressive feats. In North Newark, the album was just as popular, promoted, and accepted as projects form artists with multi million dollar budgets. On August 25, 2000 the group threw an album releases party at the Branch Brook Park Roller Skating Center in Newark. The event was a huge success. At the party, Newark, NJ mayor Sharpe James presented Manifest Destiny with a proclamation recognizing the groups achievements, and naming August 25th "MANIFEST DESTINY DAY." In early 2002, Manifest Destiny released their second release entitled "HUNGER PAINS." A full length LP, "HUNGER PAINS" shows MANIFEST DESTINY to be ready to unleash their tight delivery, supreme lyricism, and superior song concepts on the entire Hip Hop world. With production from ABUSE, JOE "FLAME" DAVIS, and FUNKA NITE, the sky is not the limit, but the starting point for MANIFEST DESTINY. MANIFEST DESTINY has always sought to put itself as much in the public eye as possible. The "Artist Corner," a music video show seen on Comcast and Cablevision, has done several features on the group. In September 2000, NJ News 12 aired an interview with the group after their performance at Rap the Vote. Blessing crowds with crazy energy and seasoned stage presence, MANIFEST DESTINY performs at any venue it can get on. The Rutgers University radio station has had the group as guests on several occasions. MADEULOOK.COM blazes the group's joints on their Internet radio shows. The group's vinyl, unique for both its original content and transparent red color, is in the possession of underground radio and mix tape DJs nation wide. Realizing that talent is not enough to make it nowadays, E-MID and INTELLECT always seek to get a leg up on the business aspect of the game, traveling to conventions such as the IMAPCT and PMC (Philadelphia Music Conference).
