Halo...A group of believers that unite to bring a variety of sound, point of view, and flavor to Hip-Hop. This album is the first of many from this group, and being the first, Halo proclaims their name as each song rolls into you and allows you to take a peek into the relm of Halo. Based out of the capital of California, Sacramento the first album consist of 5 main emcees. Yogi,(aka Captain Asshole, one of the original Halos) Leylo,(one of the early Halos with a mysterious flo) Seven,(the verbal venom of the group) Mr.Brown,(brings the voice of the streets to Halo) and Man @ Arms,(the bold voice that rips through almost every song). The album also features Halo members such as Macc Ses, Blaze, Rahj, and the voice of Dream...the man who gives Halo it's defying sound through his beats.

This album is very easy to relate to for those who are not into the same old topics you hear on the radio, the constant commerical chime hooks your hear on songs with artist such as Ja Rule or Jay Z. Oh no my friend, Halo shows you there's more to music than a man a keyboard, and a girl singing some gay hook that the kids at school all know. Halo fills the cd with emotion and frustration, like track #3 "Who Said?!" where Halo asks, "who said we have to live umong rules and follow everyone else's path?" Or track #12 "Release Me From My Mind" where the problems of racism and, the thought that we just might not make it at this rap stuff are addressed. Then tracks 5 and 16 "Disfunctional Family 1&2" where Halo becomes the first group to have a song battling each other and, have the retaliation song on the same cd!

Over all the album gives you a feeling...it leaves you in that feeling. How many rap cds can you say made you feel like you where left in a place? Not many, at least not many new cds now, they all sound the same.
