Given the diversity of religious and ethnic backgrounds of The Basement hip-hop group, two of its members (Haft and Iron Sheik) form a duo subgroup called Crimson Guard. Through their Crimson Guard music, Haft and Iron Sheik are dedicated to inform, inspire, and uplift, using the ultimate form of media available today, hip-hop music. Realizing that hip-hop can unfortunately be used to negatively influence many aspects of life around the world, Crimson Guard feels a duty to be positive. Both Haft and Iron Sheik are devote Muslims, yet their messages can be universally appreciated by anyone with an open ear. Their music, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, confronts a variety of issues dealing with social, political, and spiritual awareness. Aside from their conscious role, Crimson Guard also strives to create music that can connect to the listener or simply get a crowd moving during a show. Coming off the success of their first album, "Oppression Is Worse Than Slaughter," Haft and Iron Sheik are proud to release their sophomore effort, titled "Clan Of Arashikage." The album portrays both personal and musical growth within Crimson Guard, and indicates the duo's constant strive to elevate their impact on the listener. Featuring a variety of guest appearances (including all fellow members of The Basement) and a selected production team involving some live instrumentation, "Clan Of Arashikage" is yet another unique flavor coming out of The Basement camp.
