TOO PHLY? OR TO B-PHLY
For Blaq Butta-Phly, the answer is simple. This Detroit Michigan native is the music industry's phlyest "Butterfly" ready to take full-flight and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Blaq Butta-Phly began rapping at age thirteen influenced by the neighborhood kids of Detroit's eastside, she attributes her sense of style, grace and artistic delivery to the trailblazers who broke innovative ground in the world of Rap. She calls them "The wind beneath my wings". At age sixteen, she began to emulate the style of her musical heroine M.C. Lyte. The influence of other Rappers such as Tupac Shakur, Scarface and The Notorious B.I.G. prompted her exploration into delivering her messages as successfully as her male counterparts.

With the original styles and writing skills Butta-Phly soon caught the attention of several Independent labels and production companies. Butta-Phly soon linked up with producer Santo (Tos) (CEO of LudyTunes Productions/CNS Records) to record and release her first single under Inner City Records, titled "Butta-Phly". The single did well underground, as well as getting coverage from media such as Metro Times, Detroit News and Canadian cable stations. She then landed a production deal in New York where she recorded several demos. Flying back to Detroit, Butta-Phly continued recording demos and soon linked back up with Santo (Tos) to sign with CNS Records.

An advocate for her community, Butta-Phly started entertaining audiences for a variety of sponsoring organizations that include the Detroit Public Library Musical Celebration, honoring the birthday of
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Focus Hope and S.A.F.E. Night Activities also Detroit's Hart Plaza, State Faire, The Rooster Tail and St. Andrews Hall, performing alongside mega-stars such as Ton Loc and Donell Jones, also appearing on local Detroit TV shows such as Smiley Showcase and Sports Rap.

Blaq Butta-Phly has now recorded her first album under CNS Records, titled "B-Phly" featuring talent such as Detroit's Hip Hop diva BombShell, R&B vocalist Chuck (C Baby) Stewart, Israil (Isy) and Atlanta producer Ponch CEO of Trife 4 Life, produced by producer extraordinaire Santo (Tos) Ludy, this album is HOT!!! Don't mistake the symbolic fragile and delicate nature of the Butterfly. Tracks like "You Can't Stop Me Now", "Lady Mack", "We Make Money" and "Lay On The Ground" let you know
"B-Phly is a hard one to crack". Performing her album at her numerous show appearances in Michigan, Butta-Phly keeps the crowd on there feet and reciting the chorus by the end of the song.Watch out for her.
