The Stephen Kings Of Rap - "murder dog magazine"

BEDLAM consists of 2 members, PROZAK & MADNESS, formed in 1998, Bedlam began hitting the underground recording and performing with homies the House of Krazees. Dwelling in Detroit's underground, Bedlam began to form there style. They went on the "Mail Dominance tour" in early 1999 with Esham, Natas, and the House of Krazees. Hitting up clubs around the midwest, and promoting any chance they could, they came back to Detroit to begin their first album "Chemical Imbalancez Vol. 1". The album was a full length wicked rap album produced by Sol, aka R.O.C., and began immediate sucess in the acid rap scene. They began to gun down the streets of the "D", and all of lower Michigan. Slowly the album seeped into the cracks of Ohio, and other states via internet and record stores. Bedlam did a few more shows with Esham and Natas that year, and others such as the Dayton Familly, Halfbreed, Drunken Master and many more. At the year's end, Bedlam was mentioned 3 or 4 times in MURDERDOG magazines "best of the best 2000" issue. They were mentioned as best greater Michigan area rap group, best new artist, and future artists to watch for, making noise in Detroit and the underground rap scene.

With a powerful debut behind them and building fanbase, Bedlam hit the studio for a darker and more hostile album. This would be the sequal to the first album of terror, "Chemical Imbalancez Vol. 2". The savage album ripped through the undergound like a bunker bomb, more wicked and graphic then the first. The release shocked listeners and expanded the duo's fanbase. Bedlam released "Vol. 2" at Wickedstock 1, (group member Prozak's brainchild), at Harpo's in April, 2001, BEDLAM's first headlineing show in Detroit. Bedlam continued to perform as much as they could, doing their own shows with a host of openers. They began to create an underground wicked rap scene, on a very independent scale. Bedlam lead their own way through the industry with each member pulling weight. Madness, with his many years in the business and intense artistry, and Prozak with the drive and intense creativity created their own base of dedicated fans (known as the BEDLAMITEZ). Creating high energy, violent and unforgettable shows, Bedlam continued making the hardcore music their fans demanded, and not trying to gain acceptance of the mainstream world. They finished the year the way they started it, hustling, and continuing to get writeup's in the national magazine's like MURDERDOG and others. Labeled by press as "THE STEPHEN KING'S OF RAP" the duo took home "Best Rap Group Award" from Saginaw's "Review Magazine". They then hit the studio for there third release, "SHOCK TREATMENT."

Bedlam releases there third full length album, "Shock Treatment", at their second annual WICKEDSTOCK. This time Bedlam violated their fans with an even darker album. The CD, containing an array of subject matter: religion, mental anguish, self inflicted genocide, political demise, and spiteful revenge, continued to grow their fanbase, and... in more unusual ways than the others did. This was proof to fans of a newly evolved Bedlam. The two continued to tour many different cities and states promoting there new CD. Bedlam headlined many of there own shows at various venues through the midwest.

Their latest album "Bedlamites Rize" is now available. Mastamind of legendary rap group Natas is featured on the album. Bedlam invited Mastamind to a few of their shows suprising Bedlamitez with the acid rap pioneer. By this time, Bedlam had a homegrown fanbase in the Cinci/Newport Kentucky area. After a series of instore autograph signing's, Bedlam began to set up there own shows through Ohio, and Kentucky. Creating branches of Bedlamitez in as many areas as possible. Bedlam spent 2002 on the road hitting up uncharted waters, with gorilla style promotion. At years end, Bedlam headed back into the studio once again to create the 4th album, which would be dedicated to their fans, and to the original acid rap scene, and the founders of it. The title: BEDLAMITEZ-RIZE.

Bedlam started the following year in the studio, while taking breaks to perform, and putting on their 3rd annual WICKEDSTOCK, and a few other shows. BEDLAM's special guest line-up for the new album consists of, 2 trax with Mastamind, 2 trax with Lavel, a track with Sol 46, and last but not least, Esham! that's right, the creator of acid rap, Esham, is on the new album.
