Slumz was born Khari Moore in Providence, RI on 4/3/82. He was raised in the Doddtown section of East Orange, NJ. He grew up in a household where Hip-Hop was always played. In his home a 12" vinyl of Slick Rick's "the adventures of Slick Rick" was constantly played. The album that first sparked his love for music was Public Enemy "fear of a black planet". He started writing around age 11, the first song was about recycling for a school show. When he was 13 his Mother moved to a more rural area of Bedminster, NJ to escape the everyday ills of life in East Orange. He didn't last long about six months passed before he was expelled from school. After that he moved in with his Father in the Roxbury section of Boston, Mass. With interest in school dwindling he turned to the streets where he learned how to make money without using conventional methods. Staying true to his New Jersey roots he joined the rap group Kenetik Venomz. Having problems in school as many black youths do he was sent to program for troubled youths and eventually went back to New Jersey. While living with his Grandmother in East Orange he perfected his rhyme style on the streets. His rhyme style is a mixture of Eminem and Dead Prez. Instead of going to high school he got his education on the streets of Essex County where he formed Zone Productions. At age 19 he dropped an independent LP entitled "Slumdrumz". Since then he's produced songs for numerous independent artist such as Kings wit Crownz, J. Storm, Daily Skeemz, and Nutt. He has performed at plenty of showcases, open mic venues, and talent shows; there are too many to name. He has put out three Zone Productions mixtapes and went on a New England mixtape tour. He continues to tour and make music and has a album called Everything iz Fake Check out the artist's website: http://www.zoneprorecords.com Track List: 1. What U Want 2. Turn the Mic Up 3.
