Slick Seville was raised on the east side of Columbus, GA, a city one hundred miles southwest of Atlanta. Located next to Fort Benning, GA, the military bought people from across the country to Columbus. Slick, rapping since the age of 7, developed a style that got him respect in any rap circuit of such a diverse area. "You never knew what type of dudes you would be battling, down south, up north, whatever." Says Slick. "I had to learn to spit in a way that would rip anyone, and I found out that out of everything, no matter where they're from, people feel real shit the most." Slicks style reflects the ups and downs faced by young minorities in this country. His debut album "Real Talk" discusses topics ranging from life, money (or lack thereof), and sex to spirituality. Although Slick's style uses a witty flow and piercing punch lines, he goes deeper. Songs like "Rules" comically tell the story what happens when "cut-friends" catch feelings, while songs like "Nobody" illustrate the fact that a man's worst enemy is often himself. Because of Slick's laid-back flow and harsp voice some have compared him to a southern version of Nas. If you ask Slick, however, he'll say that he is in his own class. "I appreciate being compared to other great artists, but truthfully, I'm trying to make moves so that one day someone will be getting compared to me."
