Ja'mell "Jah" Winn, AKA Jah'real, Jah'million, is a record producer, entrepreneur and rapper. Born November 13, 1973, he grew up in New York City, in sections ranging from the Bronx to Brooklyn. Jah fell in love with hip-hop music after hearing LL Cool J's, "Rock the Bells." By the age of 12, his first rap song had been written and he produced his first hip-hop track using a Casio SK-5. With no familial influences, Jah's musical passions came from what he heard on local radio rap programs and from what he learned on the streets as well as other up and coming rappers and D.J.'s. At the age of 15, Jah met local DJ, Kashawn, and began to hone his rapping and lyrical skills. After meeting Brooklyn producer, Jun-bug, he composed a four-song-demo that caught the interest of Cold Chillin's top-dog, Tyrone Williams. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the deal fell through and he decided to quit rapping. Eventually he reinvented himself after reading a NY Daily News article. It spoke of a small production company that wanted to buy rap verses and poems. He found success...selling a large amount of songs to Cool Breeze Records. With his profits, he bought a small sampler and drum machine and began making hip-hop tracks, on amateur level. Since that time, Jamell has had small successes with a local hit titled, "Really Doubt It," featuring reggae artist 'Vibes' and some instrumental tracks played on MTV's, "Making the Video" and "Punk'd."
