RASHEED ADERO

Hailing from Hackensack New Jersey, Rasheed Adero is a critically aclaimed writer and performer. Known for his creativity and diversity; his clarity and wordplay has touched microphones across the United States.

Rasheed received his Master's degree in 2005 from Dowling College and combines combines his business sense with his literary experience to lure all listeners in.

Rasheed has shared the stage with comedians, musicians, singers, rappers, pastors, motivational speakers etc. (Kool and the Gang, James JT Taylor, Rah Diggah, The Roots, African Bambata, Chuck D, Talent etc.

He has performed across the Nation doing Spoken Word Poetry.

In July of 2001, Rasheed Adero released his debut CD, "Black Skin", which has been well received by audience throughout the East Coast and the Mid- West Regions. In fact, "Black Skin" was ranked the #1 poetry CD in Houston Texas and other major cities.

In January 2002, Rasheed dropped "Braids", a book of his own poetry and photography published by The People's Press of Baltimore, Maryland. The book links generations and cultures through heart felt words and urban photography.

In 2002 and 2003, Rasheed Adero became a member of the NJ National Slam Team and has one individual slams in numerous venues.

He is a songwriter and has written songs and concepts for MCA recording artist and TM Records Recording artist. Today, he conducts workshops on topics ranging from Hip Hop vs. Poetry to spiritual balance. Rasheed Adero was recently published in the NJ Performing Arts Center Poetry-Hip-Hop Anthology to be used in collegiate literary lesson plans throughout the country.

Currently, Rasheed Adero is a working artist with the Geraldine R.Dodge Poetry Foundation and a founding member of N.J. S.L.A.M.
