Brace yourself befour you press the play button on your stero. The duo also plays live instruments (guitar, bass and drums) REVIEWS: While tons of other emcees stomp out of Brooklyn with brain filling rap fury, few do it like Jonny Bro and the Grey Ghost, the two rappers who make up MIKE CONTROL. On 'Mic I Grab,' the production is chalk full of excellent piano loops and vocal samples, and both MC's take it to the next level with divine delivery and sick battle raps. On the B-side we get 'Rhyme for Rhyme,' a bouncier track once again backed by great production. The verses they kick are better on the A-side, but it'd be difficult to deny that Jonny Bro and the Grey Ghost don't do the job properly on the second joint. Don't sleep on MIKE CONTROL; we guarantee they'll be blowing up the spot very soon. Head over to their web site and grab this single while you wait on their upcoming EP. ......... Rebirth Magazine (www.rebirthmag.com) MIKE CONTROL are a group (yes, not an emcee) who are comin' straight outta the BK. The two members are Jonny Bro and the Grey Ghost (both mc's who also produce and play guitar, bass and drums). This is their debut on wax and it impresses. The production on 'Mics I Grab' (all the production is handled by Mike 'The Oscillator' and the group themselves) is dark, aggressive and reminds me of hammering for some reason. Nice. There's good interplay between both emcees and they both sound quite angry while they're spitting lyrics about this, that and a third. 'Rhyme for Rhyme' keeps up the standard set by the A-side. The break has been used many times before but it still sounds relatively fresh and nice - this is partly due to the fact that it sounds like it was recreated live and more original elements were added. There are more nice lyrics from Jonny Bro and the Grey Ghost about themselves and whatever else they want to chat 'bout. the uplifting tune is topped off with a catchy hook. Overall, this is a promising debut for a group that could potentially be very interesting. .......... www.HIPHOPMUSIC.co.uk Brooklyn duo Jonny Bro and the Grey Ghost spit intense battle rhymes over neck-bending beats, mellow strings, live guitars and dark piano loops. Production is a little raw, but no less impressive. Wordy flows are strong and original........... Brolin W. (www.LISTEN.com) Supa hyped New York style hip-hop tune filled with serious lyrics, dynamic vocals, phat rhythm tracks and a great hook!! ..........Bobby E. Davis (S.U.R.E. Record Pool) Mike Control is an up and coming duo out of Brooklyn, NY. The emcees, Jonny Bro and Grey Ghost, drop nice aggressive battle rhymes on this impressive debut single. 'Mics I Grab', featuring a banging beat driven by some heavy piano keys, showcases great interplay between these two emcees as they ri Track List: 1. The Coming 2. Mics I Grab 3. Rhyme Killers 4.
