AES is an emcee, producer, and musician who hails from a Denver-based independent hip hop label called Voicebox. He comes from a crew called the Makeshift Gods, with fellow Voicebox Records artists Sentence, Notthesame, and DJ Thought. This album is a 33-song epic dive into the possibilities of truly rhythmic hip hop. The instrumental track runs throughout the entirety of the album, creating a solid piece of music broken up into dozens of songs. The lyricism is complex, but straightforward and the beats range from hard-hitting to mellow. A must have for any true hip hop head interested in the progression of the movement and the music.
