AJ Ward, New York's Crossover - Inspirational Gospel Singer. Mixes R&B (or R&P for Rhythm & Praise), Traditional Gospel, Contemporary Gospel and Gospel Dance Music. AJ has been influenced by and compared to Al Green, Ronald Isley, Teddy Pendergrass, Gerald Levert and Freddie Jackson. Like most singers AJ started his music career singing in church. He was the Praise and Worship Leader at his local church in New York and became rapidly involved with various choirs, ensembles and musical groups including New York's Premier Radio Station 98.7 Kiss FM Radio Choir under the direction of Ms. Toya Beasly Program Director for Kiss FM Radio Station. AJ Ward is a self-contained songwriter, singer and producer with a strong tenor voice which captivates his audiences and brings them directly to him. As a song writer AJ is inspired by life experiences, topics of substance as well as deep spirtual and biblical perspectives. AJ has written all the songs on his current CD "Loving You", as well as performed all of his lead and most of his background vocals. AJ's Unique Style has been getting rave reviews and creating a tremdous buzz in and around the New York area. His Recent November performance with Gospel Stella Award Winner Ms. Vickie Winans has caught the attention of Sony Records A&R Manager who attended the concert and was impressed with AJ's style and presentation. You can also see AJ Ward Live and In Concert twice a month at New York's Famous Sugar Hill Bistro's Gospel Bruch, located in uptown Manhattan at 145th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. Between Convent and Amsterdam Avenues from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. Sugar Hill Bistro is also the venue for Jazz Legend Winson Marsalis. AJ is also affiliated with the McDonald's New York Metro Choir, and has in conjunction with the McDonald's Choir recently toured with, opened up and provided background singing for Grammy Award Winner Ms. Cissey Houston, Stella Award Winner Ms. Vickie Winans, Grammy Award Winner Hezekiah Walker, Stella and Dove Award Winner Donnie McClurkin and Desiree Coleman-Jackson. Performing at such venues as: The Beacon Theater, Theater at Madison Square Garden, Newark Symphony Hall, Westbury Music Fair, The Palace Theatre in Stamford Connecticut and The Hammerstein Ball Room in New York. It is definately fair to say that AJ Ward is a must-see, must-hear performer, a voice of the new millineum which cannot be denied.
