Monique "Mo" Carpenter was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut where she attended the finest schools. At the age of nine, Monique began writing songs and singing her originals as well as those of other artists. As Monique matured, so did her gift to write and minister in song. Her style of music began to develop after that of gospel singer and songwriter, Vickie Winans. At the age of fourteen, she became very active, committed and submitted to her local church and school choir. Her relationship with the Lord grew deeper. During this time in her life, doors began to open. As a solo artist, Monique was invited to participate at various social engagements and ministered in song at various churches. While actively ministering, she attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut to pursue a career in Social Sciences. At the age of twenty-three, Monique and her family relocated to Maryland. She is presently a member of Praise Chapel Ministries International, under the leadership of Apostle Jessie M. Knox and Pastor John Calvin Knox, where her gift is submitted. She is an active member of the Praise and Worship team. Monique's gift in song is one of a unique sound and flavor. She is a contemporary christian artist with an angelic voice, who adds an R&B soulful essence,in the spirit of worship, praise and adoration unto the Lord. Monique writes what she sings, as she hears it from the heart of God. The songs that Monique writes are birthed out of a place of experience; a deep, personal, most intimate relationship with the Lord. A place that demonstrates the "intimate" relationship between the Lord and His church. The anointing from the Holy Spirit to her lyrics and style of music touches many hearts, breaks yolks, heals, delivers and sets the captive free. As a singer and songwriter, Monique's call to the music ministry and her "soul" desire is to declare who the Lord is in the earth;in His earthen vessels. Monique believes in introducing and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ by way of song: that a nation in need of a Savior, a Redeemer, would turn their hearts toward their Creator; our Father God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "That's The Reason Why She Sings." Check out the artist's website: http://hometown.aol.com/songintheearthen Track List: 1. Lord You Are 2. Lord You Are (remix) 3. Lord You Are (remix Instrumental) 4.
