It says in Ephesians that as Christians we are supposed to "speak to one another" using music. Interesting, because the world is flooded with people "speaking to one another" using music too! Have you ever noticed how blatant and in your face the world's music is? I've never had a hard time figuring out where they're coming from! Well, it's my conviction that Christian music should be obviously CHRISTIAN! It should be about Jesus, it should be about our walk with Him, and it should be as plain as we can make it. You will find my music to be pretty mellow, but the message isn't. Comfort and encouragement? Yes! But also challenging and convicting. "If He Calls You", the title track of this CD sets the stage with the call to follow Jesus at whatever the cost. Honestly, it convicts me. I fall short but I know He's still calling! The rest of the CD deals with living that out. The highs, the lows, God's grace, my sin. This is the stuff that we face every single day. I need Jesus constantly and my songs pretty much map that out. These songs expose my struggles and joys, but if you are trying to follow the Lord, you will discover yourself in many of the songs as well! To him who has ears to hear...
