Kalim Addison is a much sought after writer and composer of Gospel and traditional music. As a clasically trained musician, he has had the benefit of being director of music at a number of churches of varyaing denominations. Such varied experience results in a style of music that is uniques to the gospel field, leaving the listener wanting for more! He has recorded with the Shiloh Baptist Church, of New Rochelle; Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn, NY; and a host of other churches throughout the US. Presently, Kalim Addison is Minister of Music for the Shiloh Baptist Church, New Rochelle, New York. He credits is a clasically trained musician studying at the Brooklyn Academy of Music under under such greats as Dr. Milton Darby and Professor David Gray. His training and musical experience brings a unique focus to the art, and he is in high demand as an authority in the area of the history and evolution of black music. Additionally, his training as an educator and clinician gives him advanced insight into the effects of music on the human emotion. In this solo cd, "I Dreamed A Dream," Kalim has used his unique talent in playing all instgruments, and recording all background vocal tracks. He is proud to have fulfilled his lifetime desire to complete a cd of his favorite songs, written over the years. He is joined on this cd by Eddie Parker, and Shelia Bolar, both two very talented artists! He is also supported technically by his sons Shaheed and Dealon, who contributed in the bass and percussion sections respectively. "I Dreamed A Dream" is a collection of songs that is sure to inspire and uplift listeners. The songs for this cd were carefully selected over a period of time after many requests by listeners. The title track was first performed at the Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in New York City, evoking an unprecedented emotional response from the audience. This same song is the most requested during celebrations recognizing cultural contributions during Black History month. It is sure to give you, the listener, positive thought of betetr world!
