Julia Vallarta Cárdenas, musician since childhood and poet since high school, through the September 11th tragedy unexpectedly fell into meshing the two talents into songwriting. She recalls those weeks of bright green grass and incredibly sunny blue Washington, D.C. skies that would not quit and did not seem to go with the sadness and numbness that permeated everything during and after the tragedy. Trying to get a grip on the situation and understand it from a Christian perspective led her to the realization that the rug of her American "security," suddenly yanked out from beneath all of us, simply had never existed. Truly our security has always only been in our Lord. "9-11 Security in Me Alone" blends dramatic classical and some harmonically complex elements into soft-rock Contemporary Christian song with acoustic guitar and strings, allowing us to feel and think the tragedy anew. Violinist who traveled to Europe with her youth orchestra, played in the Jacksonville Symphony, the Lexington Philharmonic, the UNAM Philharmonic, the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, and the Maryland Symphony, Julia Vallarta Cárdenas currently has hundreds of students who inspire her to creativity. Since accepting Christ as her Savior and Lord at age 15, her faith has permeated her daily life, values, and outlook on life, so making her Lord ever-present in song natural. Poetry had always been her way of expressing her deepest losses, anxieties, loves, and joys from within and of reaching loved one's hearts. Then, touched by romance and stunned by injustice, both "south of the border," Spanish became her language of love and of her fight for justice. Returning to the U.S.A. in 1998 after deciding to leave behind the corruption she fought so tirelessly against, she and her family still miss friends and relatives, and serenading all of the family-oriented fiestas with other live musicians. With her love for classical, soft rock, contemporary Christian, and Latin romantic and tropical music plus her bilingual ability to relay heartfelt messages, we can look forward to more of Julia Vallarta Cárdenas' deeply inspired messages set in memorable musical flavors.
