Júbilo About the Director/Founder Omar Alcaraz: Omar Alcaraz was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and presently lives in Stockton California. He was a Music student at Sacramento State University, continuing his education at the Radio, Recording, Television & Film Connection Institute of Reno, Nevada. Omar is the music director in his home church Alpha/Omega Ministries in Stockton, California. He has had the opportunity to travel in the U.S. and Canada sharing his music ministry. He dedicates his time to teach and minister through bible principles with the purpose of improving our lifestyles through praise and worship. Júbilo as a ministry was born from the desire to share and teach others. The purpose of this event is to invite those who love the Lord to share in praise and worship. Brief History: 1995 - First concert, “Instrumental Jazz of Praiseâ€. Takes place for the first time at First Apostolic Church in Stockton, CA. This was an instrumental concert presented by 7 musicians from different churches and denominations under the direction of Omar Alcaraz. 1997 - Second concert, “Instrumental Jazz of Praiseâ€. Participants: 9 musicians and a special presentation by the youth choir from Christ Temple Apostolic Church of Stockton. This year's event took place at the First Apostolic Church of Stockton. 1998- Third concert, “El Gozo de Nuestro Cantoâ€. Participants: 6 musicians plus the “Trio Zaragoza†with Ramon Borbon, Lalo, and Jose from Davis California. Also, this year a group of 5 vocals was added. This group was made up of participants from several churches around the area. Most of the repertoire included past songs that have been a part of our congregations since the beginnings of the church. We continued presenting at First Apostolic Church, Stockton CA. 1999 - Fourth concert and live recording “Júbilo 99â€. Participants: 5 lead singers, a choir of 20 voices, and 8 musicians. This year the format of this event takes shape into what will become an annual event. This is the last year that “Júbilo†takes place at the First Apostolic Church due to the fact that we had to turn away about 100 people because of the lack of space. We were not expecting such response from the public; therefore, the following year we held the event in a larger facility. This year was also the beginning of our live recordings with our first CD “Júbilo 99â€, in a search to share with others beyond the state of California. This project continues to be under the direction and production of Omar Alcaraz. 2000 - Fifth concert and live recording, “Júbilo 2000, Alégrese Israelâ€. Participants: Júbilo mass choir, 6 lead singers, and 7 musicians. Júbilo Ministries also presented for the first time the ministry of tambourine praise. This event takes place at the Faye Spanos Conservatory of Music at the University of The Pacific in Stockton. This year we began recording under a new division of the project, “Júbilo Music Productionsâ€. We had approximately 500 people joining us from different cities, churches and denominations. 2001 - Sixth concert and live recording, “Júbilo 2001, Derrama Tu Poderâ€. Participants: Júbilo Mass Choir, 4 lead singers, and 9 musicians. By this date (August 4th.) another section has been added to Júbilo, the completion of Júbilo Music Productions Recording Studios under the supervision of Omar Alcaraz. Once again we had the opportunity to share praise and worship with approximately 500 people. 2002 - Seventh Concert and Live Recording, “Júbilo 2002... y reinaráâ€. Participants: Jubilo Mass Choir, 8 musicians and lead singers. The format of this event continues being basically the same. However this year, 3 English songs are added to the repertoire, and we also present the Ministry of Pantomime. Once again the concert takes place at the Faye Spanos Conservatory of Music.
