Praise for "Songs for the Journey": Reviews

"Corrick's debut release marks her as a contender of unlimited potential. Strong and tender, her clear, pure vocals and expressive acoustic music weave a tapestry of spiritual insight and heartfelt comfort through life's light and dark moments. The beautiful energy transmitted through the 11 tracks is quietly but profoundly healing. Our album of the month.
(The New Times)

"Wendy Corrick has a rich, strong voice that she uses to express a deeply felt spiritual connection. She sings of an inner journey taken to discover the true self, beginning a life of never-ending transformation...A highly inspirational, powerful CD, very peaceful. Jeanette Housner (Victory Music Review)

Praise for "Songs for the Journey": Listeners

"You are now part of my morning ritual for greeting the day. With coffee in hand, I curl up on the sofa in my studio where I can watch the morning sun rise. I play your music and allow the enchantment to carry me to far off places. Whatever lies in my thoughts that need to be healed, forgiven, or inspired for the day is deeply touched by your voice and mystical sound. Your songs lift me to new heights, and I feel more spiritually centered. Thank you for this gift."
Deborah (Sudbury, MA)

"I've listened and listened to your new CD and enjoy it thoroughly. I thought I would be using it while painting but found that I want to stop and listen to the music and words. The words and music are inspiriting and I am glad to have found you. In my humble opinion, I find you more comforting than Enya. You are a success! Please put me down on your mailing list for a the next CD. Yes, this is the price of success...people want more of you. Congratulations!"
Betty (Bothell, WA)

Wow! Your CD is moving, inspirational, and beautiful!! It's beautifully produced and your voice sounds FANTASTIC. I've listened to it a couple of times through already. A few of the tunes get me weeping every time (makes it hard when I'm driving to work!).
Len (Silver Spring, MD)

Mystics, if you haven't yet ordered Wendy's CD, do yourself a favor and order it right now. Your hearts will thank you! It is joy.
Tina (Tiberon, CA)

The CD is lovely, warm and tender-- as you are--and so musical... Thank you, and please keep singing. We need music-making angels like you.
Maureen (Cupertino, CA)

You have one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, and that's no exaggeration! You definitely have a great gift, and I'm so happy that you are sharing it with the world through your recording... I hold a vision of your CD going forth into the lives all who need to be touched by your blessing, and I know all is well...

Biography

With years of experience as a concert artist, published songwriter, and
music leader in West Coast churches, Wendy Corrick now broadens her
audience with her new recording, "Songs for the Journey"--inspiration
and comfort for the pursuit of an authentic life.

In this new CD release, with a tenderness reminiscent of Alison Krauss and
the warmth of Karen Carpenter, Wendy blends healing, recovery, and
spiritual principals to help listeners make a personal journey toward
wholeness. Awakening to her own need for healing after a painful divorce
in 1994, Wendy has received training from a variety of counselors, teachers and
life coaches. "Songs for the Journey" emerged from Wendy's experiences on
the healing path. She shares the comfort and inspiration she received with
others through her musical presentations.

Born and raised in Torrance, California, Wendy moved to the Seattle area
in 1981. She completed two degrees in Music Education at the University
of Washington in 1987, and taught vocal music in the public schools
for two and a half years. In addition to her work teaching choirs and soloists,
she has many years of experience leading West Coast congregations into a
deeper awareness of God's presence through music and prayer meditation.
She also spent three years as a full-time music leader for a Seattle
area congregation.

Several of her songs (including "Holy Spirit Come" and "Morningstar")
have become standards at churches nationwide. In 1984, two of her
original compositions for congregational worship were published and recorded by
Chalace Records with Wendy's original vocals. Wendy's vocal
performance and songwriting ability caught the attention of Maranatha!
Music executives, who immediately included "To Bless Your Heart" on PRAISE Eight.
Since then, Maranatha! Music also published her songs "Come Let Us Sing" and
"Holy Spirit Come" for national distribution.

While worship is a thread woven through the richly textured fabric of
Wendy's performances, it is only one strand among many. Perhaps Wendy's
greatest skill is her ability to express the deepest feelings of the
heart to her listeners. "Life is difficult," Wendy muses. "Sometimes we
need to hear someone say, 'You are not alone. Others
have experienced similar pain and found comfort and healing. God is with
you on this life journey'." She says, "I let the music speak to the
heart. It is my privilege and joy to bring a message of hope, joy, and
healing to people through my music."
