The Indigo Project is an evocation of optimistic melancholy. The cd, 'Dancing in the Ashes' is a collection of very haunting and musically rich songs that take the listener through a diverse spectrum of sound experience. With a voice like an angel, and the backing of a truly talented group of musicians, Rachael Indigo sings sweet poetry. The lyrics explore humanity in a way that makes even the posing hipster pause. The classical violinist playing on four of the nine tracks hypnoticly weaves the listener into the story, finding beauty amidst the train wreck that our lives can become. The piano and dirty guitar add a precise flavor to the finger style acoustic melodies, creating a very full sound.
