In the past 10 years as a performing songwriter, Rebecca Jensen has released two, full-length albums, written over 200 songs, hosted an incredibly successful open mic in her hometown of Trenton, New Jersey, and performed live at music venues in Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey and most recently, in the San Francisco Bay Area where Rebecca is now based.

In 1998, she released her debut, When Magnets Collide, a quirky experiment in indie-folk production and pop songwriting. On her second album, Byupé (2002), Rebecca explored an intriguingly wider range of musical styles including folk, pop, progressive, rock, funk, jazz, reggae and soul.

Rebecca has developed a rock-solid live show both solo and with a band, and she has opened for nationally-known artists including Melissa Ferrick, Mary Lou Lord and Luke "Patchen" Montgomery of the band, Strangefolk.

With her intense, passionate vocals, intimate lyrics and daring guitar style, Rebecca has often been compared to such renowned singer/songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Jonatha Brooke. Other influences include XTC, Beth Orton, Edie Brickell, Yes, Live, Weather Report, Stevie Wonder, Stereolab and the Police.

Rebecca is a performing member of Indiegrrl (Indiegrrl.com) and WomanRock (Womanrock.com), two international organizatons run by and supporting women in the independent music industry.
