Originally from Vancouver, I moved to the UK and started playing London's (UK) acoustic circuit a few years ago. I set up my own music and short film night in Brick Lane's Vibe Bar, where I met Ian Button, guitarist in Death in Vegas, who went on to produce this album, Montana Hi-Rise. I wrote these 7 songs on acoustic guitar and then worked with Ian to produce them with a full band sound. I wanted them to have an electronic feel with dirty distorted guitars, as one of my biggest musical influences growing up was Depeche Mode. My voice has been compared to the gravely rasp of Chryssie Hynde or Sheryl Crow. My songs are melodic and a bit moody. They are for people who want to feel something when they listen to music. I have supported many great acts in London, including Cat Power, Skin (Skunk Anasie) and Damien Rice. I also played the 2002 V Festival and Manchester's, In the City. This album recalls a 5 a.m. drive through empty streets, like you're alone among everyone, waiting for the dawn.
