When you hear her, it's hard to believe she's 16 years old. Lauren Adams is on the scene and catching the interest of anyone within earshot. Her voice is mature beyond her years, and the listener is nearly compelled to wonder if she has an "old soul" to be able to exude such talent and skill, as well as writing and performing ability at such a young age. Though completely self taught on the guitar, Lauren has been studying piano and playing for about ten years with classical and jazz training. With influences from the allman brothers to led zeppelin, ani difranco to dave brubeck, and even her father, (though she doesn't like to admit it), this inspiring and aspiring musician is one to watch. Go see her now, while you can get the good seats. For her debut album, Lauren teamed up with jazz bassist Raymond Clemens. Raymond was born and raised in Norman, OK, home of the Sooners. During one summer of his youth his parents took him to see a Bluegrass Festival in Nacogdoches, TX. After one particularly stirring performance Raymond decided he wanted to play music. The next decision was a hard one, what instrument to play. After a long deliberation he decided he wanted to play the only instrument that never stopped playing during the entire jam. It was all down hill from there. Raymond attended Idyllwild Arts Academy and Mannes School of Music. Since then Raymond has enjoyed playing with many groups, in particular Mr. Super Bone and the Oklahoma Kid, D-Lux Vortex, and The Audubon Jazz Explosion. Currently Raymond can be seen with Lauren Adams, Jim Love and the Blue Groove, Impressions Jazz Quartet, Sean Kennedy Project, ARC Duo, and Almost 4. Raymond currently studies with Peter Paulsen. The rest of the story is yet to come. Check out the artist's website: http://www.uprightjazz.net/lauren Track List: 1. All Along 2. Tryin' My Best 3. Come Back 4. Lost and Delerious 5. Doors 6.
