Sara started singing and playing the guitar at age seven, when she won first place in her school talent show. Her first paid gig was at fourteen for the Houston Oilers for a private event. She has been on the Tonight Show (twice), VH-1, and produced an independent mini-film that won first place in the USA Film Festival. Has released 7 albums for adults, and two children's CD's (Newborn and Toddler). Performed all over the US and Canada---from the Troubadour in LA to Carnegie Hall. Has received numerous awards for her children's albums, including the Parents Choice Awards, NAPPA, Dr. Toy's 100 Best Toys of 2001 and Dr. Toy's Top 10 Audio Tapes of 2001. A major humanitarian and philanthropist, Ms. Hickman is also the National Ambassador of Reading for Half Price Books, traveling the country performing for children in hospitals and delivering free books and CD's to children in need. She is also a certified parenting coach and occasionally does motivational speaking. She has two children that she loves with all her heart, and she really likes to bowl in her spare time.
