Norman Schell's original material is highly regarded in songwriter circles and spans a wide range of styles, from traditional ballads and hornpipes, to gospel, folk and straight forward country. Youth Well Spent consists of disbanded Clean Living compadre Rick Tiven on violin and mandolin, Normans's daughter Galadriel on stand up bass, her husband Dan Hunt on lead guitar and Paul Provost on accordion. We were joined in the making of this album by Clean Living alumni Paul Lambert on pedal steel guitar, and Tex LaMountain singing harmony on the song he penned.
Material was chosen for strength of lyrical content, and universally evocative nature of the stories, presented with a soulful country feel, a clean and engaging style, and solid, upbeat delivery.
