This all-acoustic CD is the second for Maine's premiere guitar/fiddle/harp maker and a debut for his wife Kristin Tescher, showcasing the sounds of all his instruments and their voices. The songs are a mix of old and new from this corner of North America and 2 from British Isles. The opening cut, Island Birds, is a lead-in of 3 minutes of local bird songs blending into 3 Irish Jigs on fiddle, harp, and 12-string. The rest of the cuts alternate songs and instrumentals in moods ranging from romantic to funny/silly , fast-driving to nostalgic/romantic ; all evoking the feeling of the natural environment of wild down-east Maine. Most are written by the artists and their friends including Gordon Bok, Jan Harmon, and Anne Dodson . This is a first recording for Kristin whose almost mythical beauty is reflected in her voice and playing on harp, 12-string , and fiddle. Harvard MD Kris Kristiansen calls the CD " one of the best and most inspiring collections of tasteful music ever to come out of this corner of the country".
