Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys are proud to announce the release of "Bound For Glory", a collection of bluegrass gospel and mountain hymns from the vaudeville era. From the swingin' jazz of "Are You Ready For A Miracle" to the high-lonesome sound of "The Baptism Of Jesse Taylor", this collection has a little something for everyone...including classics like "Amazing Grace", and a beautiful version of Bob Dylan's "Every Grain Of Sand". Recorded at the legendary Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, "Bound for Glory" is a great collection inspired by classic country, bluegrass and ragtime jazz. About the band... Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys, musical purveyors of vaudeville, bluegrass, gospel and western swing. The boys have been called, "one of the most entertaining acoustic groups in the Midwest" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. This dynamic trio - whose stated goal is to literally, "corrupt an audience with pleasure" - features Jack Norton on guitar and ukulele, Jed Germond on fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo and pedal steel, and Liz Draper on string bass. The group was named "Artists of the Year" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune in 2000, and nominated for a Minnesota Music Award for "Best Acoustic Folk Group" in 2004. After seeing a Jack Norton appearance, oddball crooner Tiny Tim hailed, "he is the greatest entertainer I have ever seen." Performing original songs, hokum ballads, country gospel and instrumental breakdowns along with barbershop-style vocals in three part harmony, sight gags and comedy, the boys are highly entertaining. They perform "vaudeville in miniature" at every show. The group has been together since 1997 and has performed at nearly every venue imaginable from intimate coffeeshops to major theatres and arts centers in North America and Europe. Fully costumed, clean, and wonderfully humorous, the boys aim at pure family-friendly entertainment, and are an authentic throwback to a simpler time and bygone era.
