"This band is so good it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up and tingle like the tiny bubbles from a quickly sipped can of Coca-Cola shooting up your nose..." Ten Months Later has arrived. Formed in 1999, the band is now a top regional act in the Ohio Valley Area. Influenced by the burgeoning alternative Americana scene that sprouted out of the mid 90's, this Neo-American folk/rock/pop band draws deeply from the singer/songwriter water well. Ten Months Later's music is laced with the spirits of Steve Earle, John Prine and Walter Salas-Humara, and tempered with the melted out, lakes-of-fire impudence of Elvis Costello and the Meat Puppets. Think of the Replacements driving a monster truck through your grandma's rose garden while listening to The Band and stopping long enough for tea, cookies, and a nice conversation. Prepare yourself for a dose of lyrics that stir up memories of a restless youth spent falling in love, dealing with life's hassles, and just having fun. Their music is balanced by the soulful maturity that comes with a day job or raising a family. 10ml, as they are known to the band's growing legion of fans, released their first CD, "Sadie Hawkins Dance" late in 2001. One local record store purchaser described this debut as, "the best Louisville-produced album I've heard in years", quite a compliment considering Louisville is the recording home of Tim Krekel, My Morning Jacket, and Days of the New. Another distributor called Sadie Hawkins Dance "The best selling consignment CD we've had from this area" after having Sadie remain in the store's list of Top 10 Best Selling CDs for months. Their follow-up to Sadie, "Borrow To Own" will be released in the early spring of 2003. Recorded at Seventeen Grand Studios in Nashville, TN, and produced by three-time Grammy nominee Steve Cooley, Borrow To Own promises to deliver a musical experience that should elevate the band's status from up-and-comer, to legitimate major label contender. "Highly Recommended" - LEO Magazine, Louisville's premier alternative publication. "Ten Months Later's originals often reflect the stumbling perfection of the Replacements to the nightmare psychoses of [Hasil] Adkins to the tavern soap operas found in old country." - Jeffrey Lee Puckett, Louisville Courier-Journal Newspaper Music Critic. "Soulful maturity and melodic fortitude propel the tunes on Sadie Hawkins Dance directly into your psyche!" - ACE Weekly Sadie Hawkins Dance and Borrow To Own draw from the momentum of Ten Months Later's riveting live performances at prominent Louisville showcases such as Headliner's, Air Devil's Inn, Rudyard Kipling, Gerstle's, and many others. Energized by lead guitarist Morry Owen's infectious energy; the high harmonious lonesome twang, burn, and yearnings of vocalists Randy Arnold and John Mann; and the "wrapped and slapped" pathologically mesmerizing "thump and grind" rhythms of Fender Bassist Matt Garlove and Percussionist Yandell Wood, 10ml's "into the late night" shows continue to be the fodder and delight of original-music lovers everywhere. Through word of mouth and a sizable database of fans, attendance at Ten Months Later shows continues to escalate and the band's online CD sales have generated interest as far away as Japan and the Netherlands. "They are definitely one of our top attractions. I have them come back as often as they are available...They have a terrific sound and they bring a tremendous following" - Donna - Air Devil's Inn in Louisville, KY Ten Months Later recently reached the finals of an online band competition at www.makeastar.com and were selected to appear in the Unsigned Primetime Live Final Four Showcase, a year long band contest supported by Louisville Radio station 100.5FM the Fox. Their songs can be heard in the regular rotation of Louisville's WFPK (91.9FM) Additionally, Ten Months Later has been featured in live performances on Louisville's WLKY-TV Morning show, WFPK (91.9FM) Live Lunch Series, Bluegrass Brewing Company's Summerfest series, and LEO Magazine's World Music Fest 2000.
