'Songs From the Seventh House' is a melodic, upbeat but mellow, introspective, emotional journey through my life's dramas(good & bad) while living in Sacramento's 7th oldest house (still standing since 1865) over the last 9+ years. I'm very happy with this project (particularly for being my first), and I'm sure you won't regret checking it out. Although I hate to compare myself with other artists...in order to help people figure out what I'm generally about, I'll say it like this: If Billy Joel, Elton John, and Bruce Hornsby...while listening to Pink Floyd, had a baby. Interesting visual, huh? I got my first few piano lessons at age 11...then we moved...and we moved again...etc.. Anyway, by the time I finished high school, I probably had an accumulated 4 years of training on the piano...the rest has been self taught. Funny enough...I taught myself with Scott Joplin Ragtime tunes. Took awhile, but once I got it...it was like a whole new world opened up. The first song I actually wrote was for my graduation(I didn't sing at the time)...which was performed by several classmate-musicians in front of a few thousand family members and students...and at the end, they gave us a standing ovation. That really screwed me up because I've been chasing that "high" ever since! Since then, I've thrown myself into various aspects of the entertainment world...was a soundman for a band...tried my hand at lighting a few times...played keyboards in various bands...did the open mic thing for years...I guess mainly growing as an overall musician. Anyway...this album represents the culmination of my journey so far. Check out the artist's website: http://www.officialstevenstorey.com Track List: 1. Ocean View 2. Last Train 3. All On Me 4.
