Born in a small town in Nebraska, percussionist Steve Holloway migrated to New York City by way of Denver in the early 1990's. With a strong jazz and pop background, he began playing Irish music when Seamus Egan asked him to record on the Soundtrack of the movie "The Brother's McMullen" in 1995, and later on Seamus' solo CD "When Juniper Sleeps". Since then Steve has done several national tours with Solas, and played bodhran, percussion and drums on the Broadway production of "Riverdance". He's also recorded with Solas, Cathie Ryan, Bonnie Rideout, Marie and Martin Reilly, The McCabes, Mary Rafferty, Jerry O'Sullivan, Karen Casey and Whirligig.

Steve's first CD as a leader, "Next Stop, Seelie Court", is a fun, happy blast of traditional and original tunes. The recording features some of New York's finest musicians, including Donal Clancy, Martin and Marie Reilly, Mary Rafferty, and Scottish fiddler Bonnie Rideout. While the CD is rhythmic and lively, it's all about the tunes, the percussion driving the music but never overpowering the rest of the musicians.
