Singer/ songwriter Sarah Bowman started her career in the coffee houses of Davenport, Iowa where she and her twin sister Claire performed original songs from the age of fourteen. Even then it was evident that the sisters had been submerged in music of all kinds from the beginning of their childhood. Sarah's musical tastes and techniques developed through many years of listening to and attending the concerts of musical giants such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, CSNY, Tracy Chapman and many, many more. Whenever there was a concert or festival in town, you could be sure to find her dancing and singing right along with the music. Sarah performed with her sister on many stages, and won many competitions in the area throughout the twins' high school experience. Local newspapers and radio stations quickly began to cover the story of this talented young duo as their audiences continued to grow. Sarah continues to perform her songs in venues throughout the Midwestern and Eastern United States. She has created an original folk style by combining elements of Classical, African, Haitian, and Bluegrass music. Sarah's lyrics are full of emotion and imagery that reach people of all ages. Her first album, "Living," combines her eloquent lyricism with her musical expertise in cello, guitar and voice. The album features talented artists whose creative efforts have made the album a truly unforgettable experience for the listener. Sarah Bowman is currently teaching music in Baltimore County, and performs with the Baltimore Symphony Chorus. Her diverse talents have allowed her music to have the distinct and unique quality that is expressed in all of her performances and recordings.
