Keating is the sole project of singer/songwriter Timothy Jarrod Smith,
hailing from the Dallas, Texas suburb Grapevine. For the past five years,
he has worked relentlessly, fine-tuning his craft while keeping artistic
and emotional integrity at the forefront of his musical ambitions. He
has appeared as Keating alongside The Lyndsey Diaries (Militia Group)
and Spoon (Merge) frontman Britt Daniel's solo efforts. After numerous independant
home recordings, Keating painstakingly compiled "Cemetery" in 2004, a 11
track opus produced and mixed by John Congleton, former Steve Albini intern,
as well asfrontman for Dallas borne The pAperchAse (Kill Rock Stars).
Cemetery has received writeups in magazines such as Venues and received
airtime on internet outlet, Spank Radio. Cemetery has also been sold on
consignment at multiple record stores including Waterloo Records and Cheapos
in Austin, Tx. An unreleased song is slotted
to appear on an upcoming compilation from Doll House Recordings in the
spring, and although still unsigned, Keating expects to be part of an indie
label lineup in the next year. Currently Timothy Jarrod is putting together
a permanent band line up for a mini-tour in the next six months, as well as
writing and preparing his next album. Timothy Jarrod Smith has been writing
for most of his life, and focuses on the secret heart that every
person carries around inside. Keating; in a traditional yet humble manner,
proves that the powers of pop music can be used for good as well as evil.
