In a world that so often champions the rowdy rather than the reflective, Katharine's genuine and sober style is something a little different, and unexpected. Her recent debut record, 'Thanks for Making the bed,' is a rare combination of raw intimacy, perspective, folk based intricacies, and inventive, rock grooves.

About the Artist:

Katharine is a graduate of a performing arts high school for theater and music, and she completed her BA in Psychology at Skidmore College. These experiences support not only her curiosity for the human spirit, but a proclivity and commitment to refining the talent of expressing and exploring that curiosity through art. She has been involved in musicals, a-cappella groups and Jazz ensembles, and continues to study composition at The American Institute of Guitar. For the last four years, she has been directing her efforts towards an inventive integration of rock and folk sounds heard in her recordings and performances as a member of a New York City power trio.

Inspired by the works of such talents as Carole King, PJ Harvey, and Joni Mitchell, Katharine expands on these worthy roots with what has been described as "an undeniable signature to her intimate, sincere voice" (Jon Geist, Composer, and Guitar Instructor, The American Institute of Guitar). Her music has sometimes been compared to that of The Cranberries, Liz Phair, and Aimee Mann, but Katharine's music is ultimately "something entirely original" (Heather Funston, Television Producer and Freelance Promotions).
