"Move Toward the Exit" was recorded at Graphic Sound in the town of Ringoes, USA. The record was engineered and co-produced by Greg Frey (Ween, Ida). This is Justin's third release with One Mad Son Music. He released "Sequels and Opposites" in 2000 and Consumer in 1999. Justin has been getting out more and even showcased at the 2001 NXNE Music Festival in Toronto this June. Justin is assembling an assorted cast of people and machines to compliment his live show. Reviews of Move Toward the Exit (2001) Independent Songwriter makes "Exit" a Top Pick of the Month for December and says, "Justin Mikulka can't seem to do anything wrong. Every CD he makes is better than the last one...he's transcended into somewhat of an icon of American spirit and perseverance; determined to make music his own way...his strange brand of production sense transforms an ordinary CD into an auditory spectacle" "crazed angular blues that recall Captain Beefheart...a ghostly voodoo spiritual...Mikulka occasionally mixes the tender tones of Nirvana and the metaphysical pace of Neil Young..but mostly it is his own, undefinable voice" Piero Scaruffi, The History of Rock and Roll "an album that truly combines the sincerity of folk, the electric energy of the blues and the power of rock and roll....with the right breaks and right tweaks, Mikulka could conceivably be as big as Wilco within a year or two." Splendid "an album full of acid-trip adventures...he writes memorable, warming, emotional songs that could really make an impact" In Music We Trust "soaring...hypnotically compelling...edgy and electrifying" The Aquarian Reviews of Sequels and Opposites (2000) "more talented than the competition" The Big Take-Over "Amazing work that's cruising well ahead of the curve" Songwriter's Monthly "intriguing...Dylanesque" Performing Songwriter "Strangely compelling" Revolutions Reviews of Consumer(1999) "incredibly ingenious...truly a visionary experience" Independent Songwriter "Solo stripped down incandescent pop songs that fill the need" Green Mountain Music Review Check out the artist's website: http://home.earthlink.net/~onemadson Track List: 1.
