Waterbug is an artists' cooperative CD label founded by Chicago singer-songwriter Andrew Calhoun in 1992. The anthologies are funded by the artists and sold cheap in order to help one another get heard. Independent Artists '99 includes 4 tracks by artists imported from Colum Sands' Spring Records, from Northern Ireland. Mary Melena's "Some Loves" and Susan McClelland's "Falling From Grace" are exclusive to this recording.
