This Communal Visions CD is about Community, and each track says something about it. The CD is also a benefit (100% after expenses) for the Boulder Cooperative Market in Boulder, Colorado. Full of amazing music and heartful visions - this is a real treasure for anybody's collection! The Boulder Co-op Market is a community-owned vegetarian, mostly organic grocery, featuring local growers and producers. The Co-op's Cafe Prasad, located next door, features organic vegetarian food, fresh juices and delicious treats. The Co-op also serves as a community center, offering group activities such as herbal and nutrition classes, yoga, meditation and engaging forums relating to social and environmental responsibility and awareness. Selection of Notes and Quotes from each track: 1) Tribally by Bansi "A tribal perception is one which embraces our ability to find our ultimate freedom out of discovering the depth that we are inescapably intertwined, not only our lives with each other, but ourselves with the universe." 2) All is Welcom Here by Miten and Deva Premal "It is my hope that my songs bring with them a moment of peace and stillness to all those who listen." "Broken hearts and broken wings Bring it all and everything Bring the song you fear to sing All is welcome here "I took a deep breath and I leapt And I awoke as if I'd never slept Tear of gratitude I wept I was welcome here "Freedom is not so far away And there's only one price we have to pay Live our dreams till they fade away And let them go" 3) Don't Draw the Shades by Danya River "Please usher me in; I long to kneel in your secret chamber Where you hide your treasure." 4) Atini Nay by Cameron and Kristina "Singing together in each other's languages builds the connections for which we are all starving. Fear is the only enemy." 5) Man of the Shadow by Curandero (Ty Burhoe, Miguel Espinoza, Bela Fleck, Kai Eckhardt) "An exploratory piece bringing together unusual textures [...] intended to be a journey through the intense interplay between light and shadow, suggesting the mystical, unknown side of our world." 6) Cry Like Water by Michael Krow "The best poetry is not necessarily words that are trying to make sense. If you listen between the lyrics you can hear how the sounds of the words become as important as what's actually being told...in this case it becomes a pouring-out of imagery, which speaks to the community of the big world compared to the fragile community of Tibet struggling to remain unbroken and free." 7) Mother's Song by Danae Shanti I am awakened from Dreamtime by Her voice whispering. "Take notes," She said. Her words came spilling, a waterfall of conscious communion into my soul and out of my fingertips to my dimly lit page. "Who is speaking?" I asked as I wept. "I am the Voice of Mother Earth," She replied, "Bring this song to all people, it will help them understand and give hope." "In your heart, she says, you can feel such peace As we shed the old in a quickened release And a new life begins to emerge... We go on, we go on, we go on." 8) Everyone by Everyone "I love collaboration. It's the best way to move forward without wondering where the next sound or idea will come from. Now I'm creating a concept band called Everyone which will include anyone who says ... 'Hey, let's get together and see what words and sounds we can support each other with'". 9) Joy to You by Paul Temple and the Heartfire Tribal Rhythms Band "Open your hearts to fun now Open your hearts to love Open your hearts to laughter Open your hearts everyone Hey, Joy to You" 10) Hare Rama by Scott Medina "...a style known as 'kirtan chanting.' This is a way for community to come together and deepen their meditation through the power of chant. The essence of the words reveals the true God/Goddess that is within each one of us, regardless of your religious orientation." 11) Is This the Way of the World by Double Dose "In community we feel connected, get feedback that helps us to heal and become something larger than ourselves. We can learn to live in harmony and cooperation with one another, free of judgment, honoring diversity, and practicing kindness." 12) Let the Garden Grow by Jon Baribeau "Community is a place of common roots, fostering the growth of our human potential; it is the fabric of humanity, which protects us from the weather, from each other, and ourselves - and imbues our souls with color. If people everywhere were to make very small, subtle changes right here at home, in their own neighborhoods and communities, then we have the very real power to transform the World." 13) Rugare by Kutandara "Kutandara" means to come together and have a good time, which is the band's purpose... "May we all join hands, reach across to other lands And blindly embrace the open arms of peace May we all sing along this silent song, softly as dawn Rugare iye, iye a-wondiye Sing peace, a silent song for peace New melody for an unborn time waiting to begin" Final Thought: "The greatest joy in life is to contribute something to existence, to make it a little more beautiful than you had found it." ~ Osho .
