With a nearly operatic voice and stunningly artful songs, Steve Erwin has somehow managed to fly beneath the radar of the folks who hand out awards. Despite this, he has quietly influenced many D. C. songwriters, and like his one-time accompanist Danny Gatton, Steve Erwin is rightfully regarded as the "Best Unknown" artist in D.C. today. The legendary Gatton appeared on Steve's album, "Was It Like This" which was recorded in 1988 and re-issued on CD to critical acclaim.
