Russell recorded the basic guitar, bass and drum tracks for “Freedom†live and spontaneously in the studio, allowing the collective energy and vision of the musicians to sculpt the arrangements of his songs. He then retreated to his home studio and slowly added colors and textures to the skeletal arrangements; spontaneous vocals, multi-layered guitars, percussion spices and various solo frostings to finish a deeply textured ensemble of well-simmered and style-blended ballads. You will hear new nuances every time you replay every song on “Freedomâ€. Born in Chicago, Russell grew up in San Diego, lived in Portland and has been an artist, actor and professional musician since the late 60’s. Russell is currently living in Neptune Beach in Northern Florida to be close to the ocean once again. He has recorded 4 collections of original music and toured nationally as a professional musician and actor. To collect inspiration and experience the beautiful cultural diversities in our world, Russell has traveled to 30 states in America and 11 different countries abroad. Russell has recently returned from an 18-month trip to Europe with a home-base in Stockholm, Sweden and visited England, Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, Finland and Croatia, taking over 10,000 photographs in the process. He also finished work on his latest CD, writing and recording the final song just a few weeks prior to departing for the USA. While in Sweden, Russell was privileged to serve at one of the prominent Lutheran Cathedrals in downtown Stockholm, singing his music, leading congregational worship and teaching seminars, one of the greatest joys of his life. “This is my goal; to always look for beauty and to help my world to see it too.
