this album was recorded at home on a 4-track that i bought when i was fifteen. over the last few years, i've made several attempts to make a second CD but nothing was sticking. frustrated with life in San Francisco, work, music, love or lack there of - i decided to roam around Europe for three and a half months in the summer of 2003 and returned to find that songs were rushing out of me in every which way. i set up a mic, a small mixer, some guitars, samplers, a computer and my piano. i became a hermit, playing every night for hours on end and basically recorded everything i came up with. those recordings became the songs that became the album that i call tunes from a room.
