"RIGHT UP THERE WITH KIERAN KANE." ----Shaun Belcher, BBC Reviews Born and raised in the Midwest, Mac James spent a decade touring as a sideman and vocalist. He performed with many of the great hall of fame-ers from the 50's and 60's as part of Dick Clark's Old Time Rock and Roll shows. For the last few years he has been working solo in small clubs here and abroad and developing his own material. The results are songs that speak to the universal condition but are firmly grounded in the country idiom he grew up with. BBC reviewer Shaun Belcher wrote that James' songs "are right up there with Keiran Kane's." This is a stripped-down songwriter's album with James'vocals and guitar brilliantly carrying the load. You don't need window-dressing when the material is this strong. Definitely an artist to watch whose songs may soon be all over the alt-country scene. Currently living out of a suitcase, James favors small-bodied pre-war Gibsons and likes his pancakes with the syrup on the side. Track List: 1. Paris, Texas 2. On the Border 3. A Better World 4. For the Third Time 5. Sensible Shoes 6. Kaleidoscope 7. Don't Talk 8. Leaky Boat 9. For the Third Time (back Porch Version) Suggested CDs:Other Genres:
