Josh Lederman lies in Somerville, MA and drives a car that gets robbed twice a year. But the payments are low and soon she'll be all his. He began playing music to meet women and get free beer, but now says he's satisfied with just beer. Combining blues, folk, bluegrass, celtic music and rock (as well as other traditional forms) into tunes that are not only interesting but, more often than not, also kick your ass is no easy task. Yet that is exactly what Josh has been doing in clubs all over New England. From the jazzy blues and sparse acoustic offerings on his 1997 release "Serenades From the Gutter," to his pogues-tinged 1998 self-titled EP, Josh has refused to sit still and be categorized. He says "when it comes to a Jewish guy with a Spanish band name playing Irish-sounding music to roomfuls of drunken Wasps, it doesn't get any better than this." Now with his new band, Los Diablos (Pete Varga-mandolin, guitar; Dan Deleo-bass; John Buczkowski-accordian,banjo; Rocket1000-drums), Josh is again careening off in new directions to make his shows as inventive and crazy as ever.
