"Text"

"Their songs of love, loss, and rebirth will tear you apart and put you back together again."--SB Independent, Feb. 16-23, 2006

"Lompocs band Clark crafts songs that are like lullabies for grownups, except theyre too enjoyable to just fall asleep to. A collection of personal (yet accessible) tales of love, loss, and rebirth, they bring to mind Elliott Smiths quieter moments while giving more than a nod to Nick Drake, especially on the gorgeous, xylophone-punctuated Headphone Day. And if youve ever felt loss (and who hasnt?) the haunting title track might just make you cry. This isnt just a great album for a local bandits a great album period."--SB Independent, March 31- April 6, 2006

"Bio"

Clark is one of America's most treasured three-piece folk acts. It is a true gem.

Gabriel Friley fronts Clark with his thoughtful guitar and voice. Dana Friley, his wife, adds depth with her classical finger-picking style. Multi-instrumentalist, Andy White, rounds the trio out by accompanying with whatever the song may call for—glockenspiel, keyboard pads, piano, guitar, etc. You can see this great mainly in Santa Barbara County, especially The Mercury Lounge. They will also be doing their first nationwide tour during the summer of 2006.

Members of Clark also offer a more robust sound in the dreamy art rock band Widescreen Reason (found at CD Baby). It's a sound that nods to such influences as The Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, and The Flaming Lips. The group's influences include Wilco, Nick Drake, and Stars. They have also played and worked alongside such artists as Tad Wagner (Buellton) and Jessica Peters (Petracovich).
