Christine Collister grew up on the tiny Isle of Man and enjoyed a childhood in rugged and free landscape. Born with an adventurous nature, she also began to explore her sense of spirituality, characteristics which inform the content of her latest songs. Christine's professional recording career began in the UK in the mid 1980s. She first came to national attention singing the theme tune to the cult hit BBC TV series, 'The Life and Loves of A She Devil'. Following a fruitful association with THE RICHARD THOMPSON BAND, Christine also featured on albums by LOUDON WAINWRIGHT and BERT JANSCH and enjoyed a period of acclaim in a seven year partnership with CLIVE GREGSON, as half of the legendary duo Gregson & Collister. Christine's subsequent endeavours have enabled her to develop new and liberating musical partnerships, including those with BARB JUNGR and with female folk super group, DAPHNE'S FLIGHT. However, it was probably her solo albums, 'The Dark Gift of Time' and 'Blue Aconite' which began to establish Christine as an artist of stature and substance, both at home and abroad during the past 18 months, Christine's career has once again evolved and after two successful solo tours and a performance at THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, she has also been very warmly received by audiences of diverse artists including legendary country performer, DON WILLIAMS and blues guitar maestro ERIC BIBB. 'HOME' is the latest album to be released on Stereoscout Records and captures Christine at her best - in live performance. The songs were recorded at various venues over the past 12 months and the CD's appeal is enhanced by exclusive video footage, gallery and interviews, along with never before released audio clips. HOME is a pre-cursor to a DVD, to be released early 2004, featuring full length interviews with Christine alongwith footage of gigs and appearances from the last 20years of her career.
